Privacy notice

Last updated 4 November 2026

This notice explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need to look after your booking.

Who we are

This website belongs to [legal business name], trading as Café and Bistro Tío Leo, 17 Bishops Place, West Hoe, Plymouth PL1 3BW. We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this site.

You can contact us about your information by calling 07307 563676, emailing [email address], or speaking to us in the bistro.

What we collect

When you send a booking request, the website writes your details into a text message, which you send from your own phone to ours. We receive:

Please don't include health information, such as allergies, in the form. Tell us in person or by phone instead, so we can take care of it properly at the table.

Why we use it

We use your details only to manage your booking: to confirm it, contact you if something changes, and prepare for your visit. Our legal basis is that you have asked us to take a booking for you. We don't use your details for marketing, and we never sell or share them with anyone for their own use.

Where it's kept

The booking form doesn't send or store anything on the website itself. Your details only leave your device when you press send in your own messages app, and they arrive as a text on our business phone.

This website is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify briefly processes technical information, such as your IP address, to deliver the site and keep it secure, and may do so on servers in the United States under data protection safeguards recognised by UK law.

How long we keep it

We delete booking texts within 6 months of the booking date, unless we need to keep something longer to deal with a problem or a legal requirement.

Cookies

This website doesn't set any cookies of its own and doesn't use advertising or tracking tools. The fonts and images are hosted on this site.

The map on our home page is provided by Google Maps. It only loads if you choose "Show map". Once it loads, Google may set cookies and collect information under Google's privacy policy. Links to Instagram, Facebook and Tripadvisor take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
